Mini Interview with Rino Lino, Father of the 2017 IGT8 World Champion

Mini Interview with Rino Lino, Father of the 2017 IGT8 World Champion
Rino Lino, an RC enthusiast who started in aeromodelling, moved into drones professionally and fulfilled his dream of owning his own RC shop, bringing in the leading brands on the market and supporting all his customers through his own experience. I always say the same thing, "when you do something with passion, it shows!" and that's why Rino Lino, over the years and with the experience gained in competition, has reached the 1/8 GT world podium with his car, the IGT8. Great drivers have joined his team and they're making waves — for all the right reasons this time! PuntoRacing: What we most want to know are the feelings of the drivers and everyone who took part in one way or another in a race as intense and important as the 1/8 GT World Championship! After the resounding success of the IGT8 at the worlds and now having partly absorbed the success... What does Rino Lino and his team taste like now? Rino: First of all I want to thank Punto Racing for keeping RC fans worldwide informed about this latest IFMAR GT World Cup in Argentina, as well as all the appreciation we received from everyone. It's hard to express what you feel when you achieve goals you've pursued for so long, especially when the results exceed all expectations. We worked very hard throughout the week but the truth is we worked much harder over all these years on different tracks, conditions and situations that helped us learn and be better prepared for an event like this.
PuntoRacing: Do you think this could be the turning point for IGT8 in international markets? Rino : Those who know us definitely know the serious work we've been doing from the start; however I think nothing beats a good result at such an important event to gain the confidence of anyone looking for a quality product with great performance

PuntoRacing: What do you think of the Santana brothers' performance at the worlds, and what do you think they lacked to match the pace of Morganti or Recio among others? Rino: I don't feel they lacked anything to compete at the highest level as they did, finishing in an excellent 4th place. The track conditions were extreme — it took us a lot of effort in the first days to get the car dialed in. I'm sure the Santana team will be an excellent rival in future competitions as they were in this one.
PuntoRacing: If a driver decided to switch from any category to 1/8 GT and was unsure which chassis to buy... Why should they bet on the IGT8? Rino: Beyond the results that show the manoeuvrability as well as the quality and reliability of the product, I think the support we give all our drivers around the world is our true strength — we make sure our drivers have the support they need to achieve their goals.
PuntoRacing: Paolo Morganti told us in the interview we did with him that the IGT8 is constantly evolving and always trying to improve performance — what are the brand's next goals regarding chassis, development, etc.? Rino : We come back from the worlds with many ideas; we'll use this time to analyse and decide which aspects we can improve on the chassis because we're certain the GT category will keep growing in 2018 and we must be prepared to always stay at the forefront.

PuntoRacing: Besides the IGT8, which has already earned its name in the international GT world, what other products can RCtarget offer for our GTs? And where can drivers in Spain currently purchase them? Rino : RCtarget offers a variety of products and we're pleased with the great acceptance pilots give us. Being one of the few who specialise in the competition side, we have excellent-level drivers who always contribute ideas for new products and applications. Among the most notable are the headsets for communication between driver and pitman, the Novarossi GT 2017 engines and the pipe and header combo for these engines. All this on a web platform with plenty of information, photos and constant updates. We have distributors around the world; however RCtarget ships worldwide with very affordable shipping costs and unmatched support since our staff is bilingual and everyone races RC competitively.
